Founder Gene Lerpido didn’t set out to build just another business — he set out to solve a problem.
“We noticed so many students and professionals working out of noisy cafes, struggling to focus or even find a seat,” Gene shares. “We knew there had to be a better way. That’s how Openspace began — as a response to the real needs of our community.”
Initially, Gene and his team considered opening a fitness club. But when they observed how many people in Katipunan were hungry for a place that supported focus and connection, the vision for Openspace came into clear view: a membership-based coworking space designed to elevate productivity while fostering a true sense of community.

That small group grew, blending students from different universities into a tight-knit study team. They all passed the exam — and recently returned to Openspace, now officially lawyers, to say thank you.
“That’s what this place is really about,” Kams reflects. “Creating a space where people grow, thrive, and support each other.”
